17 September 2026 – New Times Shipbuilding Co. Ltd. has elected TMC Compressors (TMC) to supply the marine compressed air system to eight large container vessels the Chinese shipyard is constructing for A.P. Moller - Maersk (Maersk).

Under the contract, each of the eight 18,600 TEU containerships will be equipped with a complete marine compressed air system from TMC, including compressors for control air and service air on board.
All eight ships will have the same characteristics and will be delivered in 2029 and 2030. At 366 meters in length and 58.6 meters in breadth, these vessels are more compact than the current maximum container vessel length of 400 meters.

However, I must admit that a vessel that is 366 metres long brings an extra big smile to my face. We look forward to supplying our compressed air solutions to these large and impressive vessels,” smiles Hans-Petter Tanum, TMC’s director of sales and business development.
The eight containerships will be equipped with dual-fuel engines able to operate on conventional bunker fuel or liquified gas.

TMC designs compressors solely for marine and offshore use. The company is headquartered in Oslo, Norway.
