Chantiers selects TMC for two luxury vessels

4 December 2023 – Chantiers de l'Atlantique has chosen TMC Compressors to supply the marine compressed air system for the two LNG yachts the shipbuilder is constructing.

Under the contract, TMC Compressors will supply a complete marine compressed air system to each of the two newbuild yachts. Each system includes control and service air compressors with associated air treatment system.

The two vessels’ dual-fuel propulsion system will use LNG as the primary fuel (marine gasoil secondary).

Sustainable cruising is on the rise

“We see that consumers’ expectations to sustainable cruising is on the rise and the industry is responding to this with more focus on sustainability in their vessel designs. As a company that started developing emission-reducing technologies two decades ago, this is a development we are delighted to see,” says Tom Erik Ranheim, customer relationship manager at TMC.

TMC will manufacture and assemble the marine compressed air system at its facilities the Nordic region and deliver it to Chantiers de l'Atlantique in France.

“Our technicians are constantly chasing ways to lower energy usage, lower emissions and lower operating costs from the compressed air system. We are really pleased that Chantiers de l'Atlantique recognises this through this contract award,” adds Tom Erik Ranheim.

Delivery of the two large yachts is scheduled for 2024 and 2025, respectively.
